A Walking Tour
Meet at The Clock Tower, former Shoebury Garrison | Ends at Barge Pier | Allow 2 hours for tour
From the French Revolutionary Wars to the Cold War. From the birth of the shrapnel shell, to testing artillery, training troops and war dogs and the development of the facility in the post-war period, we will also explore some of the observable sights in the Estuary including the Maunsell Forts and Mulberry Harbour. Discover a lesser-known aspect of Southend’s history set within a beautiful park and wildlife reserve.
