Artists in Conversation

Silke Ukena is originally from Germany, she has lived and worked in Essex for forty years.

'When in my 30s I discovered I had some artistic ability and developed a passionate interest in painting. Enjoying the mediums of pastel, watercolour & also oil, I love to paint flowers, portraits, life & landscapes vibrantly. I have organised many exhibitions & sold work here and abroad. 

Following the completion of my Fine Art degree as a mature student, I have taken beginner’s workshops since spring 2019.

I believe everyone is an artist.
