About the Event

Journey Through The Ice Age

Tickets are sold via Eventbrite here: A Journey through the Ice Age Tickets, Multiple Dates | Eventbrite

Start your journey with a tour about the first human inhabitants in Southend, their life and culture, and the other species with which they shared their Ice Age world.

Following the tour will be an artefact session in which we will take a closer look at some of the prehistoric artefacts and Ice Age fossils from our museum collections.

Finish your journey through the Ice Age with a chance to create your own Stone Age tool (from soap!) You'll be shown some stone tools from our collection for inspiration, how prehistoric people used to make these and then have a go yourself.

Please note: A part of this event will be located upstairs in Central Museum where there is no lift - please get in touch to discuss accessibility. The soap used for this event is Pears original. Butter knives will be used for the last activity so adult supervision is encouraged for young children.
