The 57th Essex Open Exhibition

The popular annual open art exhibition returns for its 57th event selected by artist Polly Morgan.

Always a fascinating and varied show guaranteed to provoke discussion and debate.

 

On a busy night in late November the 57th Essex Open was officially opened by Her Worshipful the Mayor. Artist’s came from the furthest parts of the county and from just around the corner to see the exhibition for the first time which again covers a myriad of styles, techniques and subject matter. Selected by internationally renowned artist Polly Morgan the show will have appeal to everyone, such is its diversity.

Prizes were awarded to the following

Best Work in Exhibition - Shona Chew ‘Head 21 Sharon’
Best Oil/Acrylic sponsored by Brera- Ash Barrett ‘The Path’
The Shirley Robson Bowl for Best Watercolour and winner of £100 in framing vouchers from The Strand Gallery, Southchurch - Liam O’Herlihy ‘Yachting’
Best Print or Drawing- Shema Ladva ‘Artist at Work (Crawling)’
Best Photographic Work - Graham Bridgeman Clarke ‘Surreal Disneyland’
Best Three Dimensional Work - Steven Wood ‘Matchstick Men’
