This project is a great opportunity for Southend and the Region, a destination museum, showing wonderful collections and putting Southend at the heart of the story of the Thames Estuary.

From some of the earliest Human inhabitants of this country, including wonderful Saxon finds and the Prittlewell Prince, to the 21st century and more or less everything in-between.
  
The Museum will trace the incredible natural story of one of the world’s greatest environmental successes and discover one of the world’s great waterways.

  
This unique building will be the realisation of Walter Beecroft’s dream – a purpose-built Gallery for a superb art collection. It is sustainable both commercially and environmentally. It will provide world class temporary exhibition galleries, digital theatre, excellent restaurant and café, plus shops, education spaces and all with fantastic Estuary views.
